The construction for the 3rd Airport of İstanbul is ongoing with full pace. 30 percent of the project has already been completed. The total project is divided into 4 phases and the first phase is planned to be completed in February 26th, 2018. The airport is expected to be the main hub of Europe and one of the most important hubs in the world.
Upon completion of the 3rd Airport, Airbus 380 and Boeing B747 type wide body carries will be able to take-off and land the airport. The first runway which is more than 3000 meters long and 60 meter wide is about to be completed. The airport is 35 kilometers away from the city center and will be built on a 76.5 million square meters of area and the connection roads are already completed. The airport is the final destination of North Marmara highway which has put into service lately. The 3rd Bridge of Istanbul is also located on this highway.
Pre-sales of the office spaces that are going to be developed in the main terminal building which will have a capacity of 90 million passengers have already been started. There will be two types of office spaces at three different pricing and with 13 square meters option and 19 square meters option. Upon completion of the whole project, 3rd Airport will have an annual capacity of more than 200 million passengers and will be serving to more than 350 destinations with 250 different airlines.
