In a big crowded city like Istanbul, you definitely need to discharge a whole day-work stress. After a busy day in the office, the last thing you want to face is traffic lights, people in a hurry, cars smell and impatient drivers' sound.
How about some music?
In fact, IBB, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, thought about you and launched a new project called "Good evening Istanbul" to help people relax and throw stress on their way back home.
Good evening Istanbul is about small concerts that will be held in metro stops and certain ferry stations every day between 4 and 7 pm.
The project aims also to showcase the artistic identity of Istanbul and to give it a unique spirit of a cheerful and lively city. So, you will be enjoying various music genres that match with all tastes like Jazz, Classic Turkish, Classic occidental and Pop.
Professional musicians and bands will be performing live small concerts playing different instruments in the following metro stations:
Taksim, Yenikapi, Vezneciler, Levent, ITU, Haciosman, Aksaray, Kirazli, Atakoy- sirinevler, Kadikoy, Ayrilikcesme, Unalan, Kozyatagi, Bostanci, Pendik, Tavsantepe, Uskudar, Altunizade, Umraniye, yamanevler and Cekmekoy.
And in some ferry stations:
Beskitas, kadikoy-Karakoy, Uskudar- Eminonu.
Performances are also expected to take place in Istanbul new airport starting from next month in the domestic terminal.
By the coming of spring and as the weather becomes warmer, concerts will move to open spaces and squares to animate the city and keep it alive. This project will last until end of April.
