E-visa is a type of visa that is used for tourism or business purposes. It lasts for 180 days and the visitor has only 30 days to spend in the country with e-visa. E-visa is different from the regular visa in the sense that it is very quick to acquire, in about 15 minutes.
Can Everyone apply for a Turkish E-Visa?
There are certain conditions;
You must show proof of a return ticket, hotel reservation, and at least $50 per each day of your stay.
You are traveling for tourism or business.
You have a round-trip ticket with an official Turkish airlines, such as Onur Air, Pegasus, or Turkish Airlines.
You are holding a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date you wish to visit Turkey.
You are below 20 or over 45 years old; or have a valid Supporting Document (Valid visa OR valid residence permit from one of the Schengen Countries, USA, UK, or Ireland). E-visas are not accepted as supporting documents.
HOW TO APPLY FOR E-VISA TO VISIT TURKEY?
The application for the e-visa is extremely simple. All you have to do is visit the electronic visa application system of the Republic of Turkey at https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/.
The application is made up of three steps.
Apply. Enter your country and the type of passport you have along with the security verification.
After seeing in between which dates are your e-visa is valid, and choosing the arrival date in Turkey, fill your personal information and you are ready to make the payment using your credit card or debit card. The e-visa fee depends on being free to $80 USD between country of origin.
And you are done! You can download the document to show at the airport.
Why should you apply for a paper Visa instead of an E-Visa?
If you are planning to visit Turkey for any reason other than business or tourism or you wish to stay longer than 30 days, you should apply for a regular visa. You can apply for a lot more variations of visas.
To get a tourist visa to visit Turkey, you need to have certain documents. These documents are as follows:
The validity of the passport should not be less than 6 months upon application.
Recent bank statement covering the last 6 months.
Personal Photo 4x6 (white background).
A copy of the passport. Please also bring your original passport to the application.
Commercial registration or an HR letter from the employer stating the income.

Short-Term Residence Permit
In all types of visa applications, Turkish consular offices may issue visas with a maximum duration of stay of 90 days. The foreigners who wish to stay longer than 90 days in Turkey, should apply for “Short Term Residence Permit” at the Provincial Directorate of Migration Administration in order to extend their residence.
To apply for a short-term residence permit, foreigners who have strong connections in Turkey (such as real estate purchases or business investments) must submit the following documents to the relevant Provincial Directorate of Immigration Administration (Göç İdaresi) once an application is submitted through the e-residence system. Short-term residence permits are issued for a maximum of two years as a principle. A residence permit is invalidated if it is not used within six months.
