Turkish government have set many economic targets to enhance many sectors by the year 2023. One of these vision’s target is improving the public transportation network by establishing a 1023 Km subway network in Istanbul creating an effective transportation system.
As part of this vision, a new subway line is about to be constructed on Asian part of Istanbul connecting kadikoy and Sultanbeyli districts.
The environmental impact assessment process of this line initiated 2 years ago, was officially launched in September 17th.
The 18,4 Km line will be connected to the European side by the integration into “Short Bosporus line” being itself under construction between Bakirkoy and Sogutlucesme.
The express subway line, planned to be completed in 46 months, will pass by many stations throughout Kadikoy, Atasehir, Sancaktepe and Sultanbeyli districts.
The Kadikoy- Sultanbeyli line will have many connections to different subway lines in order to facilitate the transportation to different corners of the city.
In fact, it will allow the access the access to European side through Altunizade station of the Incirli- Sogutlucesme line. Besides, it will be connected to the Kazilcesme- Sogutlucesme subway line via Esatpasa station.
It will also be connected to Goztepe- Umraniye, Dudullu- Bostanci and Cekmekoy – Sultanbeyli lines.
